The census process in the country will begin next year. The world’s largest administrative and statistical exercise will be conducted in two phases. This will be the country’s first digital census, which will cost approximately Rs. 11,718 crore. The Cabinet has approved a budget of Rs. 11,718.24 crore for Census 2027.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that Census 2027 will be the 16th census in the series and the 8th since independence. He said that the digital design of the census has been created keeping data security in mind. The first phase of the two-phase census will begin in April next year and will continue until September. This will involve house listing and housing enumeration.
The second phase, the population enumeration (PE), will begin in February 2027.
देश में जनगणना की प्रक्रिया अगले साल से शुरू होगी। दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी प्रशासनिक और सांख्यिकीय प्रक्रिया दो चरणों में कराई जाएगी। डिजिटल मोड में यह देश की पहली जनगणना होगी, जिस पर लगभग 11, 718 करोड़ रुपये की लागत आएगी। कैबिनेट ने जनगणना-2027 के लिए 11, 718.24 करोड़ रुपये के बजट को मंजूरी दे दी है।
सूचना एवं प्रसारण मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णवा ने कही कि जनगणना-2027 शृंखला की 16वीं और स्वतंत्रता के बाद की 8वीं जनगणना होगी। उन्होंने कहा, जनगणना का डिजिटल डिजाइन डाटा सुरक्षा को ध्यान में रखकर बनाया गया है। दो चरणों में होने वाली जनगणना का पहला चरण अगले साल अप्रैल से शुरू होगा और सिंतबर तक चलेगा। इसमें घरों की सूची बनाना और आवास की गणना की जाएगी।
दूसरे चरण में फरवरी, 2027 से आबादी की गणना (पीई) होगी।
