Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Supriya Sahu has been awarded the United Nations’ (UN) highest environmental honor, the Champions of the Earth award. Sahu, who is the Additional Chief Secretary of the Environment Department in Tamil Nadu, was announced as a recipient of the award in the Inspiration category. She received the award in Nairobi. Sahu was particularly recognized for her pioneering work on plastic pollution.
भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा (आईएएस) की अधिकारी सुप्रिया साहू को संयुक्त राष्ट्र (यूएन) के सर्वोच्च पर्यावरण सम्मान चैंपियंस आॅफ द अर्थ से नवाजा गया है। तमिलनाडु के पर्यावरण विभाग की अतिरिक्त मुख्य सचिव साहू को प्रेरणा श्रेणी में यह सम्मान देने की घोषणा की। नैरोबी में उन्हें यह पुरस्कार प्राप्त हुआ। साहू को विशेष रूप से प्लास्टिक प्रदूषण पर उनके शुरुआती कार्यों के लिए सराहा गया है।
