The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully completed user trials of the Akash-NG (New Generation) missile system.
These tests were conducted from the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, Odisha.
This missile is an upgraded version of the older Akash missile.
It is a medium-range, indigenously developed, mobile surface-to-air missile (SAM) system.
- Range – 70-80 km (significantly more than the 25-30 km of the older Akash missile)
- Altitude – 30 meters to 20 km
- Speed - 2.5 times the speed of sound
This missile was developed by DRDO and manufactured by Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL).
रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन (डीआरडीओ) ने आकाश-एनजी (नई पीढ़ी) मिसाइल प्रणाली के उपयोगकर्ता परीक्षण सफलतापूर्वक पूरे कर लिए है।
यह टेस्ट ओडिशा के चांदीपुर स्थित एकीकृत परीक्षण रेंज से किए गये है।
यह मिसाइल पुरानी आकाश मिसाइल का उन्नत संस्करण है।
एक माध्यम दूरी की स्वदेशी रूप से निर्मित मोबइल सतह से हवा में मार करने वाली मिलाइलें सिस्टम है।
- रेंज – 70-80 किमी (पुरानी आकाश की 25-30 किमी से काफी ज्यादा)
- ऊंचाई – 30 मीटर से 20 किमी तक
- रफ्तार – ध्वनि की गति से 2.5 गुना
इस मिसाइल को डीआरडीओ ने विकसित किया है और इसका निर्माण भारत डायनेमिक्स लिमिटेड (बीडीएल) ने किया है।
